Corrections and clarifications
The credit for Stephanie Neal’s photos was mislabeled in a story that ran in Wednesday’s paper (“Hark! It’s time for a slew of holiday cards”). Neal, the owner of Stephanie Neal Photography in Heber, took photos of the Beechers, Greys, Littles, Heskitts and Tom Jackson and Laura Carlson that ran with the story.
Rev. Doug Folsom (“Pastor Revels in Christian noir”) wanted to add the following comments to Wednesday’s C1 story. The story is about his career as a filmmaker and his work as a pastor at St. John’s Anglican Church at Quarry Village. “My goal is to make films with artistic integrity and tell stories that point to God’s love and redemption, without being preachy in a negative sense,” he wrote in an email. “I want to reach people who would likely not step foot in a church. I try to tell stories about real life issues that will challenge and encourage people at the same time. I’m not interested in getting up and preaching a sermon at the end of the film. I want the story to be the sermon. That is how I meant I’m not a Billy Graham in terms of filmmaking. Many Christian films tend to be preachy in that negative sense.”
Swaner EcoCenter Community open house

Santa ski jumps at Utah Olympic Park
Santa Claus will be making a special appearance at Utah Olympic Park this Saturday to try his skill at ski jumping. Santa will jump off the 90-meter Olympic jump during the women’s Continental Cup ski jumping competition. Admission to the event is free and complementary hot chocolate will be available for all spectators. Park Silly Sunday Market is now accepting applications for 2009. The Park Silly Sunday Market is an eco-friendly open air market where neighbors and friends come together. The 2008 Park Silly Sunday Market consistently drew crowds of 2,000 to 4,000 people to Park City’s Historic Main Street in 2008. The Market will run for 15 Sundays June 14-September 27, 10am-4pm. Park City Nutcracker plays Saturday
