The Park City Police Department on Friday will crack down on drivers who do not stop for pedestrians in crosswalks, using police officers as decoys at two key locations.

The plainclothes officers will cross in the crosswalks. Other officers will monitor them. Drivers who do not yield to the plainclothes officers could be pulled over.

The Friday operation is scheduled at:

  • The Bonanza Drive-Iron Horse Drive intersection from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
  • Park Avenue outside of Albertsons from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

    The police and other City Hall officials have long seen pedestrian safety as crucial as Park City encourages more people to walk or bicycle instead of driving.
