On May 1, Bruce Ochs of Laughlin, Nevada, took ownership of China Panda at 1776 Park Ave. While there are many Asian restaurants in Park City, the China Panda is the city’s only strictly Chinese restaurant.
Ochs is partners with his father who owns several franchises in Nevada casinos including Seattle’s Best Coffee and Pizza Hut, which Bruce Ochs helped manage.
The new owners are working to maintain normal business hours while upgrading the customer dining area and kitchen at night. Customers will notice new carpet and a new paint job. Renovations will be complete in late June, early July.
The China Panda has a 25-year history in town and Ochs said he’ll make changes, if any, slowly with thoughtful consideration.
The family also has experience running several restaurants in California, he said.
Ochs recently purchased a home in Park City and said he plans on becoming a full-time, permanent resident.
