Last week, Dr. Wade Peers, who serves patients from Rock Springs, Wyo. to Park City, celebrated 10 years in Summit County and moved his office into a new location in the Summit Center along Rasmussen Road.
The new office at 2750 Rasmussen Rd. is “homier,” he said, and more comfortable to patients. It’s also larger and according to a press release, “features state-of-the-art surgical equipment including a three-dimensional CAT scan, sterilization and anesthesia machines and systems.”
The practice, Park City Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Center, has seven full-time employees.
Previously at Kimball Plaza neighboring the Park City Music Conservatory, Peers said a goal of the new office was to make patients more comfortable.
In addition to removing wisdom teeth and other tooth extractions, Peers said he’s trained to handle any surgeries on the mouth and jaw including trauma treatment, facial fractures, biopsies and removal of lesions. And as the name suggests, he also does dental implants.
Peers moved to Park City for the obvious reasons, but also recognized it was a community without an oral surgeon. As the community has grown, Peers said it’s been a good move for the practice and he still frequently sees patients from Wyoming.
“We’ve established a good reputation with people in the community and area and it’s been a great experience so far,” he added.
A common misunderstanding many locals have, though, is that they’ll get a better price in Salt Lake City. Peers said he charges patients the same rates as Salt Lake physicians.
Another perk of the growing community is the new Park City Medical Center that allows him to take trauma calls there instead of drive to downtown Salt Lake City.
“Jaw fractures and lacerations can be taken care of here in this great facility,” he said. “With our state-of-the-art equipment we feel like we have everything to offer here and there’s no need for patients to make the journey to Salt Lake City.”
