A 14-year-old boy suffered a leg injury Monday when he crashed on a motorcycle at the Oakley Recreation Complex.
The accident occurred at about 4:35 p.m. when the boy struck a chain while riding the motorcycle in a parking lot, according to Detective Ron Bridge, a spokesman for the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
"The chain was in place to restrict vehicle traffic from driving on the grass and was held up with large fence posts," Bridge said in a prepared statement. "The collision pulled a post out of the ground and stopped the vehicle abruptly."
The boy’s right leg was injured in the crash. He was taken to a Wasatch Front hospital.
Bridge said he would not release the name of the boy who was injured. He said he doesn’t expect any charges to be filed.
