A candidate in the race for Summit County treasurer on Tuesday withdrew from the political contest.
Coalville Democrat Tyler Rowser has quit the race, according to the Summit County Clerk’s Office. That leaves Park City Democrat Corrie Kirklen and Jeremy Ranch Republican Henry Glasheen as the two candidates in the race.
The County Treasurer’s Office has been up for grabs since longtime Republican Treasurer Glen Thompson announced his plans to retire in 2010.
Summit County Democratic Party Chairman Glenn Wright has said he is confident his party will capture the seat this year.
The treasurer monitors receiving and accounts for all county funds. The office also assists in borrowing and investing money for Summit County.
