Deputies say they are searching for a Snyderville Basin man who was reported missing on Dec. 21.
“I can’t tell you whether I think he is alive or dead,” Summit County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Brad Wilde said.
Magdaleno Godinez Godinez, 27, was last seen at about 2 a.m. on Dec. 19, Wilde said.
“He was renting a room from a lady and they didn’t really consider him missing until he didn’t show up to work,” Wilde said in a telephone interview Monday. “We’re just trying to find out who saw him last and find out the last time he used his phone I need to determine whether he is missing or doesn’t want to be found.”
Wilde said he believes the man was working at a construction site in the Park City area before he disappeared. He has lived in Summit County for about four years.
The missing man, who is from Mexico, was renting a room in a Spring Creek home that sits near East Canyon Creek. On Monday, investigators used a helicopter to search the stream.
“We actually flew over the creek today with the thought that maybe he went down and actually fell into the creek,” Wilde said. “We’re concerned because he didn’t show up for work. That’s probably the biggest concern I’ve got.”
