Officials have released the name of a California man injured in an all-terrain vehicle crash last week in Henefer.
Utah State Parks and Recreation spokeswoman Deena Loyola said the driver of the ATV is James J. Jacobs, who is in his 70s.
Jacobs damaged vertebrae, suffered several broken ribs and was hospitalized after the crash, according to Loyola.
Jacobs had two passengers on the ATV when he crashed Jan. 29 at about 4 p.m.
Neither the driver nor the passengers were wearing helmets or seat belts, Loyola said.
Jacobs was ejected and the ATV rolled on top of him, she added. The man was airlifted to University Hospital.
Loyola said the crash occurred near Four Seasons Lane on property owned by the state Division of Wildlife Resources.
Jacobs was visiting a relative in the North Summit area, she said.
When reached Monday, a hospital spokesman declined to comment about Jacobs’ condition.
Jacobs was still hospitalized, the hospital spokesman said.
