The Park City Police Department last week received an unusual string of complaints about cell phones being lost, stolen or found in several places around the city.

Some of the cases included:

  • On Saturday, Feb. 12 at 7:47 p.m., someone went to the Park Avenue police station to report a lost cell phone while snowmobiling. The person also said a debit card and a driver license were lost. Public police logs did not indicate where the person had been snowmobiling.
  • At 5:27 p.m. on Saturday, someone on Jupiter View Drive told the police they had found a cell phone.
  • At 5:08 p.m. on Saturday, someone on the 1300 block of Lowell Avenue reported losing a cell phone. The phone was lost on Feb. 5, the police were told in a faxed report to the Police Department, according to police logs.
  • At 4:13 p.m. on Saturday, a cell phone was reported to be lost on the 1300 block of Lowell Avenue.
  • On Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 5:37 p.m., the police received a complaint that a phone had been stolen on the 400 block of Main Street.
  • On Sunday, Feb. 6 at 11:33 a.m., someone told the police a phone had been stolen off a table at a lodge.

    Meanwhile, at 1:51 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7, the Police Department received a complaint that someone was attempting to “scam lost phones off of them.” The person who contacted the police said the subject was at a lost-and-found area, according to police logs.
