The Park City Police Department last week continued to receive complaints from school officials that students were skipping classes, and in several instances police officers were called in to speak to truant students.

Some of the cases reported last week included:

  • On Wednesday, March 30 at 1:23 p.m., a police officer was summoned to speak to a student who had reportedly skipped classes at Treasure Mountain International School.
  • On March 30 at 10:33 a.m., a police officer warned a Park City High School student after the student reportedly had been truant.
  • On March 30 at 8:19 a.m., the Police Department reported a meeting was held between a parent, a student, a school counselor and an officer to address repeated instances of truancy. The meeting was held at the high school, the police said.
  • On Tuesday, March 29 at 11:53 a.m., a meeting was held involving a police officer, a parent and a school administrator to discuss an investigation into truancy at the high school.
  • On March 29 at 10:37 a.m., a student, a parent, a counselor and a police officer met at the high school to discuss truancy.
  • On Monday, March 28, three truancy cases were reported at the high school at 7:39 a.m. Public police logs said each case resulted in a meeting with parents.

    The Police Department in recent weeks has received a series of truancy complaints.
