Alison Moore will be teaching English literature, English composition and senior debate at the Park City High School this year.
Moore received her Master’s degree from the University of Northern Las Vegas and has been teaching in Nevada for 10 years.
“I decided I needed a change and I have been in love with Park City for ages,” Moore added, “I applied and moved after I got the job this summer.”
Moore said there are three new teachers in the English department this year.
“Everyone has great ideas and anytime you need help they are there for you. The administration is really supportive,” she said.
According to Moore, the students just finished learning about chivalry after reading The Legend of King Arthur.
“The projects are hanging up in my room. I like to do a lot projects that are hands on and creative,” she said.
Moore will also coach junior varsity girls soccer this fall. She said the biggest challenge is getting acclimated to the school culture and new people and living through her first white winter.
“I love the snow, that’s the reason I started coming to Park City, but I’ve never lived in the snow. It might be one rough winter but I think it will turn out fine,” she said.
