The Park City Police Department in early October received at least three reports involving people who were seen hunting inside the city limits or getting ready to hunt.

The cases included:

  • On Sunday, Oct. 9 at 7:34 a.m., when a man in a brown-colored pickup truck was seen in the vicinity of the intersection of S.R. 224 and Meadows Drive. The man was parked on the side of the road and was preparing to hunt, the police were told. Public police logs did not provide details.
  • On Saturday, Oct. 8 at 7:40 p.m., the police received a complaint that a person might have been hunting in the vicinity of the McPolin Farm. A mountain bike was found at a spot animals traverse but not close to a trail used by bicyclists, the police were told.
  • On Friday, Oct. 7 at 4:31 p.m., a hunter carrying a bow was reportedly seen hiking up a hillside close to Aspen Springs Drive.

    Hunting within the Park City limits is prohibited. The Police Department occasionally receives complaints about hunters searching for game inside the city, though. Firing a weapon of any sort is also barred within the city limits.
