In the most recent issue of Ski Magazine, Park City’s Jupiter Bowl was selected as the No. 1 hot spot for where to go after hitting the slopes.

Going up against other fun post-resort options, Utah came out on top with Jupiter Bowl beating other resort towns like Beaver Creek, Vail and Stowe.

“Bowling is cool again,” said author Samantha Berman.

The article selected Jupiter Bowl because of the any-age-welcome mindset the business has brought to Park City. With two full bars, a gourmet restaurant, billiards and an arcade on top of the bowling lanes, the venue promotes itself as a place anyone can go to have fun.

Damon Kuemmel, Jupiter Bowl’s director of marketing and sales, said the business has managed to offer something very unique.

“Clients see us as really high-end,” Kuemmel said. “Children can have a great time, but parents can also come in and have a great dinner and a nice glass of wine.”

The venue has only been open for two years this Thanksgiving but has already hosted film premiers as well as company parties for groups like Adobe and Goldman Sachs, Kuemmel said.

“We’re really unique to other venues around the country, especially in a ski town,” he added.

Now Jupiter Bowling is working to pull in more interest from Salt Lake and Utah Counties. Boosting advertising using billboards, ad space in guide books and working with local business bureaus and the Salt Lake Convention Center have all driven interest up Kuemmel said.

With more than 70 feet of television screens and an arcade on top of the bars and restaurant service, Jupiter Bowl is about more than bowling. And its popularity is catching on outside of the state, he added.

Kuemmel said business is doing great and that the owners are looking at expanding outside of the state. Kuemmel said discussions were preliminary but that sites were being scoped out in California.

“Not everyone wants to go to Main Street,” Kuemmel said. “With Jupiter Bowl, both kids and parents can enjoy themselves. Everyone that comes here has a fantastic time.”
