The Park City Police Department last week received at least three reports of bicycles being either stolen or lost in or close to the city.

Public police logs did not provide details about the bicycles or their values. In one of the cases, a bicycle was on a vehicle rack when it was taken.

The Police Department regularly receives reports about stolen bicycles. It has offered a bicycle-registration program for years as a way to thwart thefts and increase the chances that a stolen bicycle is returned to the owner if it is found.

The cases included:

  • on Saturday, July 14 at 7:12 p.m., someone contacted the police with a report that a bicycle had been stolen from a rack attached to a vehicle. The bicycle had last been seen approximately 45 minutes before the police were contacted. The case was reported on Jupiter View Drive
  • on Thursday, July 12 at 5:46 p.m., someone reported losing a mountain bike at Guardsman Pass. The bicycle disappeared on July 6 at approximately 3 p.m., the police were told.
  • on Wednesday, July 11 at 2:32 p.m., a bicycle was reported stolen on Sidewinder Drive. It was taken within 20 minutes of the police being contacted.
