Summit County Arbor Day
Wasatch Back Trees will plant two-inch caliper trees on Saturday, May 11 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents are invited to bring shovels, rakes, gloves and appropriate footwear to help plant, backfill and mulch. An ISA-certified arborist will be on hand to answer questions.
The Kamas Valley Lions donated $1,500 to support the project. The Kamas Soil Conservation District, Rocky Mountain Power and ArborDocs donated trees, which will be used to improve the park in Marion, located at S.R. 23 and Upper Loop Road.
Recycle your snow sports gear
Recycle Utah is collecting and recycling snow sports equipment from April 15 to May 31. Gear that is no longer usable and cannot be taken to a ski swap, such as bent poles, can be brought to Recycle Utah. The collected snow gear will be sent to Snowsports Industries America to be shredded and recycled into core material for new skis, decking, flooring and furniture.

Bookmobile dedication
The public is invited to attend the bookmobile dedication at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17 at the Weilenmann School of Discovery, located at 4199 Kilby Road in Park City. Michelle Torzillo’s fifth grade class will be assisting with the celebration.
The dedication is part of a country-wide celebration of National Bookmobile Day, which began as a way to remind the public about the vital role that bookmobiles provide libraries every day. America’s bookmobiles have provided access to information and technology for more than 100 years, regardless of where people live.
