Questar Gas is upgrading its infrastructure along the S.R. 248 entryway, causing traffic backups along the busy state highway.
A company spokesperson says the workers are replacing a regulator station with one that will be more secure and farther from the road.
A regulator station is used to reduce the pressure of the natural gas as it travels through the line toward a neighborhood. The station is situated just off S.R. 248, known as Kearns Boulevard in part of Park City, close to the Comstock Drive intersection.
Questar Gas is removing the station, extending a pipeline eastward approximately 1,000 feet and building a larger regulator station, the spokesperson, Darren Shepherd, says. The new one will be protected with a wall.
The project is expected to be completed by the middle of November. The work in the state highway was anticipated to be finished this week.
