According to the Summit County Attorney’s Office, the following cases were heard on Aug. 3 in Third District Court at the Summit County Justice Center:
Matthew Lee Golding, 31, of Sandy, entered a guilty plea to DUI, a third-degree felony. Sentencing is Sept. 21.
Phyllis June Mora, 54, of Salt Lake City, entered a guilty plea to possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months and ordered her to complete other standard terms and conditions.
Landy Nikole, 40, of Cottonwood Heights, entered a guilty plea to attempted possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor and attempted possession or use of a controlled substance, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine for the first count and imposed a 180-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine for the second count. Those sentences were stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 18 months, ordered her to complete 25 hours of community service, pay a $500 fine and complete other standard terms and conditions.
Earl G. Nowotny, 36, of Salt Lake City, entered a guilty plea to attempted burglary of a vehicle, a Class B misdemeanor, and theft, a Class B misdemeanor. The court imposed a 180-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine for each count. The sentences are to run concurrent to each other. Those sentences were stayed and the court placed the defendant on court probation for 12 months, ordered him to complete 25 hours of community service and other standard terms and conditions.
Brennan Replogle, 27, of Clinton, entered a guilty plea to assault against a peace officer knowing the person is an officer, a Class A misdemeanor, violation of a protective order, a Class A misdemeanor, commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child, a Class B misdemeanor, and intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor. Sentencing is Sept. 21.
Nick Ignat Boman, 24, of Salt Lake City, was sentenced for the offenses of theft by receiving stolen property, a second-degree felony, failure to stop or respond at command of police, a third-degree felony, burglary of a vehicle, a Class A misdemeanor, and criminal trespass, a Class A misdemeanor. The court imposed a one-to-15 year sentence at the Utah State Prison and a $5,000 fine for the first count. The court imposed a zero-to-five year sentence at the Utah State Prison and a $5,000 fine for the second count. The sentences are to run concurrent to each other. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine for the third and fourth counts. Those sentences were stayed and the court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 36 months, ordered him to pay a recoupment fee of $250, serve 116 days in jail with credit for 116 served and complete other standard terms and conditions.
Rory Bowen, 37, of Oakley, was sentenced for the offenses of three counts of sexual battery, all Class A misdemeanors. The court imposed a one-year jail sentence and a $2,500 fine. That sentence was stayed and the court placed the defendant on supervised probation for 54 months, ordered him to serve 30 days in jail followed by a period of home confinement for an additional 60 days, comply with Group A sex offender conditions, have no contact with his victims, successfully complete sex offender treatment and comply with other standard terms and conditions.
