A value is a means to action. I agree with Arid Ioannides that it is time for the city and the county to value the work of Recycle Utah by actively and urgently funding a better location and a new facility that befits the community and its desire to be part of the solution, not the problem, regarding recycling and reuse.
We lead the state in what we recycle. Two decades ago I served on the board of Recycle Utah. Even then the need for a better and expanded facility was apparent. The current staff does an excellent job. But they are hindered by the location. Park City and Summit County are not what they were 25 years ago. Bigger and busier. If we value Recycle Utah, and I hope we do, let us act to support them in moving forward.
