It gives me great pleasure to wholeheartedly endorse Ryan Dickey for Park City Council.
When Ryan was appointed to my vacant City Council seat in January of 2022, he didn’t have the advantage of spending months on the campaign trail delving into issues, so it was critical that he jump in with both feet to come up to speed.
He spent countless hours with staff and elected officials learning the background of issues so he could be well prepared when making the decisions he was being asked to make. He didn’t hesitate to raise his hand when council liaison assignments were made and took on two of the arguably most difficult assignments — housing and transportation — both council top priorities.
He is currently serving with me as liaison to the Regional Transportation Task Force and lends a strong voice to the conversations. His other roles include representing the city on the Snyderville Basin Water Reclamation District Board and serving as the liaison to the special events/economic development teams in the city.
Prior to being appointed to the Park City Council, Ryan served on the Snyderville Basin Planning Commission for five years, including one year as chair. During that time, applications for high-profile developments such as Dakota Pacific, Colby School and Highland Flats were considered. Current council members have looked to his experience and expertise numerous times as land use decisions have come before them. The relationships Ryan formed while serving in the county have been invaluable as our community has begun to work more regionally.
As I’ve worked closely with Ryan for nearly two years, I am constantly impressed by his work ethic and his ability to look at issues in a wholistic manner. I have deep respect for his thoughtful, analytic and compassionate approach to understanding issues. He works hard to find consensus but is not reluctant to cast a dissenting vote when he feels it is warranted.
I believe Ryan has served Park City well during the past two years. I wholeheartedly endorse his candidacy for City Council and encourage you to check the box next to his name on the ballot that is in your mailbox. Park City needs Ryan Dickey as a member of the City Council!
