An endorsement isn’t given freely by me. Confidence in my assessment of the individual, including their background, skills, demeanor and commitment, is critical. It is without hesitation that I endorse Megan McKenna for Summit County Council Seat C.
I have known Megan for almost 35 years. It has been a pleasure to observe her grow into a confident, intelligent, problem-solving and caring adult. Megan has always been committed to this community, whether as a ski patroller, high school science teacher, housing advocate or convener.
In every position she has held, she has been committed to excellence and advancement of her work and others. Megan commits hours to council and planning commission meetings, and participated in the Summit County’s Community Planning Lab. She studies the issues, gathers the knowledge (in many cases getting degrees or certifications) and gathers key stakeholders to advance issues and develop workable solutions.
It hasn’t always been easy for Megan. She has worked hard for what she has, often working multiple jobs and being persistent! Whether paid or a volunteer, she has worked tirelessly not only for herself but to support co-workers or those in need within our community.
This job isn’t easy. It takes experience, knowledge and a willingness to learn, combined with good communication and compassion. I’m confident that Megan McKenna is the candidate with this unique combination of heart and mind.
