A naked man was reported walking down Highland Drive late Sunday night.
Deputies arrived in the neighborhood and found a 50-year-old man standing in the road without a shirt or shoes, according to arresting documents. He was uncooperative with law enforcement and appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The man said he did not drink or take drugs. The deputy asked him why he was standing outside without clothes (besides shorts). He responded that the deputy had taken him out of his bed while he was sleeping and brought him there.
The deputy attempted to learn more, but the man continued to become aggressive and ask what he was being accused of. He was ordered to walk home or be dropped off there in the cruiser, according to the report.
However, the man would not comply with deputies.
He was ultimately arrested and booked into the Summit County Jail for lewdness and disorderly conduct. He was later released on his own recognizance.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to several other calls between Monday, June 24, and Sunday, June 30, including reports of an injured hiker, reckless driving and trespassing.
Saturday, June 29
Summit County Search and Rescue and the Sheriff’s Office Mounted Patrol were dispatched to help emergency medical services with an injured hiker near Mirror Lake Campground.
Deputies observed a vehicle traveling about 10 miles under the speed limit on S.R. 224 near Ute Boulevard. The vehicle was eventually stopped in Bear Hollow. The driver showed signs of impairment, including showing medical insurance cards instead of the documents for her vehicle. A field sobriety test was conducted. The woman performed poorly. She was arrested under suspicion of drunk driving.
A driver was arrested for suspected DUI on S.R. 224 after deputies observed signs of impairment.
Wednesday, June 26
Deputies conducted a record check on a vehicle in Kimball Junction and learned it was not insured. The driver admitted to not having insurance. The driver was cited. The vehicle was impounded.
Tuesday, June 25
An adult man was arrested in Trailside for a domestic violence-related assault.
Deputies were dispatched to Henefer after a woman reported her husband was hitting their home with a hammer. Deputies arrested the man and charged him with property damage.
A homeowner reported a neighbor entered their home uninvited. Deputies attempted to contact the suspect, but were unsuccessful. Surveillance footage showed the man exiting the back door of the residence. The 74-year-old man was identified and charged with criminal trespass.
Monday, June 24
Summit County Dispatch received a report of a reckless driver traveling westbound on Interstate 80. A Utah Highway Patrol trooper located the driver near milepost 151 and stopped the truck. The 25-year-old man spoke with law enforcement, who observed two beer cans between the driver and passenger seat floorboard. Both cans were half full. The man said he hadn’t consumed alcohol for several days. A records check showed he had a suspended license for an alcohol-related offense. The man was arrested and booked into the Summit County Jail on several charges.
