Park City Institute Concerts on the Slopes
Park City Institute‘s Concert on the Slopes series continues July 20 with Lead Singers of Classic Rock, featuring Jason Scheff, longtime lead singer of Chicago, and Tommy DeCarlo, a former lead singer of Boston at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, at Canyons Village stage. Scheff, who replaced Chicago bassist and vocalist Peter Cetera in 1985 and played with the band until 2016, is the son of Jerry Scheff, who played bass for Elvis Presley. Sundance Local Lens Park City Screening: ‘Eno’
Sundance Film Festival will present a free Local Lens screening of Gary Hustwit’s “Eno” at 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, at City Park. The documentary, which premiered through the 2024 Sundance Film Festival’s New Frontier category, is about musician and producer Brian Eno and uses a new type of generative software. So this particular screening will differ than the other screenings held during the festival earlier this year. Although the screenings is free, registration is required. Park Silly Sunday Market on Lower Main Street
Park Silly Sunday Market continues its summer season and opens at 10 a.m. on June 16 on lower Main Street. While the green, open-air street fair will open July 21 and Sept. 1, 8, 15 and 22, it will not open throughout the month of August. Admission is free. Bike ‘n’ Botany
Swaner Preserve & EcoCenter, Snyderville Special Recreation District, and Utah State University Extension Summit County will host Bike ‘n’ Botany, a leisurely ride to learn about common noxious weeds of the Snyderville Basin from 8-10 a.m. on Monday, July 22. The ride will start at the Swaner EcoCenter, 1258 Center Drive, and continue on paved and packed gravel paths toward Willow Creek Park. Ghibli Film Festival: ‘Spirited Away’
Park City Film continues the Studio Ghibli Film Festival with a screening of Studio Ghibli Founder Hayao Miyazaki’s Academy Award-winning “Spirit Away,” rated PG, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23. The screening will be held at the Park City Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium, 1255 Park Ave. Dr. Susan Napier Goldthwaite Professor of rhetoric and Japanese studies at Tufts University, will give a presentation following the film, which won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film. Napier, author of “Miyazakiworld: A Life in Art” and “Anime from Akira to Howl’s Moving Castle Experiencing Contemporary Japanese Animation,” teaches courses on film and Japanese culture. Park City Farmers Market
The Park City Farmers Market runs from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. every Wednesday throughout the summer at Park City Mountain‘s First Time chair lift parking lot. Admission is free. The Park City Farmers Market, which has been running for 21 years under Volker Ritzinger, features fresh, non-GMO produce, local meats and other local offerings.
