On Sept. 2, we once again celebrated Miners Day, Park City’s cherished celebration of our mining heritage. On behalf of the Park City Rotary Club, I would like to thank the community for their incredible support and participation. The Main Street parade, Running of the Balls, Mucking & Drilling, and the full day of City Park activities were a resounding success thanks to you.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Marcella and Sheila Hall of Summit Sotheby’s for their generous sponsorship of the new Running of the Balls tower. We are also indebted to our Running of the Balls event sponsors: Bowman-Carter Law, Rocky Mountain Power, Abode Vacation Rentals and Property Management, GCS Project, and Proforma Peak Marketing. We are thrilled to announce that the Running of the Balls raised more money than ever before. These funds will go toward our community non-profit grants, supporting the local organizations that make such a positive impact on our community.
A special thank you goes out to the miners and judges who participated in the Mucking & Drilling Competition. Their skill and dedication added to the excitement of the day, showcasing the enduring legacy of our mining past. We would also like to thank all of the parade participants for their vibrant and enthusiastic participation.
Thank you also to Park City Municipal and the Park Silly staff. Their expertise and logistical support for all of the festivities is crucial in ensuring a successful day.
Finally, I cannot express enough gratitude to the Rotary Club volunteers. Their institutional knowledge, tireless efforts, and months of planning were instrumental in making Miners Day a success, ensuring that our community’s mining heritage remains celebrated and honored.
