Del McCoury Band at the Egyptian Theatre
Grammy Award-winning Del McCoury Band will wrap up its three-night run on Nov. 9 at the Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St. The group, named “Entertainer of the Year” at the 1999 International Bluegrass Music Awards, is one of the most awarded artists in bluegrass-music history. In addition to winning a number of Grammy Awards, McCoury is a National Heritage Fellow, a member of the Grand Ole Opry and a member of the International Bluegrass Hall of Fame. Wetland Climbing Wall belays the Swaner Preserve’s Ecosystem
The Wetland Climbing Wall will open from 1:30-3:45 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at the Swaner Preserve & EcoCenter, 1258 Center Drive at Kimball Junction. Climbers of all ages can move through the Preserve’s ecosystem from bedrock to uplands. Pre-registration is encouraged. Libraries Closed for Veterans Day
Park City Library, 1255 Park Ave., and all the Summit County Library Branches — Kimball Junction, 1885 W. Ute Blvd., Kamas Valley, 110 Main St. and Coalville, 82 N. 50 East — will close Monday for Veterans Day. The libraries will reopen Tuesday for regular services. PC Tots Live Give Kick Off
PC Tots, a nonprofit that provides high-quality, affordable, safe early education and child care for the workforce of Park City and greater Summit County, will get a head start on Live PC Give PC, the town’s annual day of giving, on Monday, Nov. 11, at Offset Bier, 1755 Bonanza Drive Unit C. The free event, open to ages 21 and older, will give the public a chance to learn more about PC Tots programming and mingle with Board members, parents, teachers and community leaders, while enjoying Offset’s amazing beer and Red Bicycle Breadworks‘ appetizers. ‘Aerial Mining Trams and Ski Lifts’ Presentation
Mining Engineer Mark Danninger will give a free presentation, “Aerial Mining Trams and Ski Lifts” at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Park City Museum Education and Collections Center, 2079 Sidewinder Drive. Aerial mining tram development in the late 19th century improved ore and mining in rugged and remote districts across the western United States and Canada.
