The Summit County Republican Party announced today its support for incumbent Mayor Kay H. Richins in the upcoming Henefer mayoral primary election, scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Mayor Richins, who has led the town of Henefer with steady and effective leadership, earned the Summit County GOP’s backing following a unanimous vote by the party’s executive committee. According to party officials, Richins represents the kind of responsive, accountable leadership that eastern Summit County deserves.
“Mayor Richins has consistently delivered for the people of Henefer,” said Ari Ioannides, chair of the Summit County Republican Party. “From major infrastructure upgrades to thoughtful modernization of public spaces, he has advanced the town while preserving its values. Just as importantly, he has been a strong advocate for districting the Summit County Council — something our rural communities have needed for decades.”
During his current term, Mayor Richins successfully oversaw the upgrade of Henefer’s aging water system and the remodeling of the Town Council chambers, all while maintaining fiscal discipline and community character. His advocacy for fair county-level representation has also resonated with residents across eastern Summit County.
The Summit County GOP encourages all eligible voters in Henefer to support Mayor Richins in the nonpartisan primary on Aug 12.
