Let us cut to the chase in this critical primary election at this critical juncture in the evolution of Our Town.
As a group, we have met with each of the candidates running for city council. Incumbents and first timers.
And yes — we each have favorites.
And we hope they make the cut in this primary because we want to see them make the main event in November.
We don’t totally agree as a group on our finalists. But here’s the one true thing we do agree on — if you don’t vote in the primary you have no space to complain about the slate that pops up for November.
Because this is where your voice is critical. We need the good guys to make it to the final round.
Get out and vote and narrow this extensive field of neighbors who have put themselves in the bullseye of public opinion. Vote for the kind of humans you want to represent you in the days and months and years ahead. Critical years where land use decisions will need to be made. Where steady hands can guide the ships of development and Olympics and spaces for seniors and protecting the very asthetic of what has made Park City a working frame for the picture of a beloved ski resort community.
Choose leaders who are brave and kind and collaborative.
Because if you don’t show up for the primary, you have zero stance to complain about the slate for November.
Your two favorites need your vote in August to make it to the final round.
The stakes have never been higher.
