As a 30-year resident of Park City and a former executive at Deer Valley Resort for 25-plus years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some truly exceptional people in this community. That’s why I am writing today to express my enthusiastic support for Beth Armstrong’s candidacy for Park City Council.
Beth has lived in Park City for 20 years, and in that time she has given back in ways that most of us can only admire. She has served on more than a dozen nonprofit boards, including Park City Hospital and KPCW, and has contributed thousands of volunteer hours to our community. But it’s not just about the résumé. Beth is known throughout Park City for her warmth, her generosity, and her remarkable ability to quietly lift others up — especially those navigating tough personal challenges.
What makes Beth truly unique is her rare combination of compassion and capability. She has what I can only describe as a spooky ability to make sense of complex, even chaotic situations and help guide people to a solution — often using her deep, long-standing relationships across Park City and Summit County.
She listens with intention, without rushing in to speak. Instead, she asks thoughtful questions and takes the time to truly understand an issue before offering a response. It is a gift, and one we badly need from our City Council.
Beyond her personal qualities, Beth brings practical, real-world business experience that is essential in addressing the increasingly complex issues we face — from growth and housing to transportation and sustainability. She will be a steady, insightful partner to the mayor and her fellow council members. She leads with kindness, respect, intelligence, curiosity, collaboration and seemingly boundless energy.
Beth will also represent us with strength and dignity in conversations with the Utah Legislature, Summit County, and the 2034 Olympic Winter Games organizers. She embodies the best of Park City’s spirit.
We don’t often get the chance to elect someone like Beth Armstrong — someone whose values, experience and character so perfectly align with what Park City needs right now. I urge every resident to cast their vote for Beth. We’ll all be better for it.
