Opinions that are not grounded in truth and instead are being used to weaponize others for their own personal gain is something we cannot sit back, keep quiet about, and condone the unconscionable results.
Enough has already been written about the recent disparaging remarks made by certain current and former local government officials, councilors, school board members, etc.
C’mon people, let’s not again get sidetracked and sucked into petty politics and irascible conduct. They have no place in our community. Keep your eye on the prize!
The Park Record has had to waste too much real estate on what is categorically a non-issue tearing the focus away from what really matters — restoring Park City to the people that live here and make it our home.
Give us our constitutionally provided voice in the future vision. Don’t waste it on division! Stop with the misinformation, mal-alignment of character and the creation of a toxic climate poisoning this election!
We need officials who are not afraid to be mindful, loud and targeted in their efforts to refocus our town into a unified community. They need not spend their precious time responding to insults and demeaning remarks that hold no merit, and have been carelessly thrown into the public eye as an attempt at deflection of the serious issues we face.
We can only believe or deduce that these remarks were presented in an effort to defocus the most qualified candidate(s) from their continued efforts to boldly reveal their plans to move the needle in a useful direction — to reposition our town to handle the growth trajectory that is continuing to attract more and more individuals and families that wish to make Park City their home!
Let’s recognize and support candidates that listen to the voices and opinions of our community, share the same vision, and do not get caught up in political malfeasance.
Let’s endorse highly experienced nominees like Jack Rubin for mayor, and John “JK” Kenworthy and Jeremy Rubell as experienced candidates for the Park City Council! These three pillars of the community walk the talk — creating a zeitgeist of integrity, experience and action! It’s time to focus on community values, local control, and voices free from political intrigue.
It’s time to focus on restoring balance to how we govern, and just as importantly to how we behave!
It’s about truth. It’s about respect. It’s about community!
