For some time now, it has been clear that Mayor Nann Worel’s leadership has raised serious concerns for Park City residents. The most recent despicable attempt at political maneuvering and conjecture apparently designed to boost her ally/council candidate Beth Armstrong into the general election was an obvious failure and one that should trouble anyone who values fairness in our community.
The coordinated effort behind this interference, supported by a group of nine close-nit team of aligned signatories was less about truth or evidence and more about silencing opposing voices.
Nann and her cosigners did everything they could to tear down John “JK” Kenworthy. Not one of these individuals attempted to seek the facts. All they sought was to create disruption diverting locals’ attention to the lack of progress made over the core teams term while under Nann’s watch, including the very recent Kimball Arts Center departure announcement.
Such tactics undermine not only our electoral process but also the integrity of those who participate in it.
Despite this blatant unfounded character assassination on JK and its ripple effect, voters spoke for themselves, and the proper candidate earned his place on the podium.
You see, JK has always lifted up Park City and it was our turn to return the favor. Actions have consequences. The record of what happened will remain part of Nann Worel’s failed Park City’s political history, and our community deserves better than coordinated personal attacks, backroom strategies, and manufactured scandals.
Park City is at a major inflection point. Our city deserves leaders who are not afraid of making hard decisions. We need decisive leadership that will ensure the city maintains progress and builds on the post pandemic momentum handed to Park City due to failed policies in other geographic regions and not look backwards.
Thank you to those who continue to stand for fairness, transparency, and accountability in our community. Your voices were heard.
