Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested two people who allegedly stole merchandise from a Kimball Junction retail store.
Law enforcement responded to the store on Thursday after receiving a report about the apparent theft, according to a shift report. Deputies found the two suspects, who reportedly had some of the stolen merchandise, when they arrived.
Deputies also obtained a search warrant for their vehicle, where they located additional stolen items from the same retail store.
The two people were arrested and booked into the Summit County Jail.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple other calls between Monday, Sept. 1, and Sunday, Sept. 7, including reports of driving under the influence.
Sunday, Sept. 7
Deputies pulled over a speeding vehicle on S.R. 248. They allegedly smelled the odor of alcoholic beverages and burnt marijuana emanating from the driver. The driver was taken into custody for a suspected DUI, and a passenger was issued a citation for possession of a controlled substance.
Saturday, Sept. 6
Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash with no injuries in the Snyderville Basin. During the investigation, they noted a strong smell of alcohol coming from the driver. The driver was arrested and booked into the Summit County Jail for a suspected DUI.
Wednesday, Sept. 3
Deputies received a report of a swerving vehicle in the Snyderville Basin. They located the car and initiated a traffic stop. The driver was allegedly impaired, and he was arrested for a suspected DUI.
