Park City is my home, and I love it deeply. It is my honor to work professionally in positions that enable me to serve our community. First, with Park City Community Foundation, and then with Better Boundaries, an anti-gerrymandering organization. Through those roles, I’ve learned a few truths: Leadership and civility matter, as does decisiveness and an orientation towards action.
That is why I endorse Ryan Dickey for Park City mayor. We need a mayor who isn’t just visible at City Hall, but in the halls of schools and small businesses. We need someone who understands the pressures on families because he is living it.
Ryan has institutional knowledge, expertise and a proven track record of public service. He has served on the Snyderville Basin Planning Commission and on the Park City Council, where he has repeatedly shown an ability to say no to developments that undermine open space or quality of life, and yes to those that thoughtfully balance growth and preservation.
In times when preserving open space feels challenging, he is a voice for the kinds of protections that make Park City truly sustainable. He also understands that workforce housing, child care, local economy, traffic impacts and preserving our environment all weave together — and that ignoring any thread weakens the whole fabric.
What I admire most about Ryan is his approach. He doesn’t come in with preconceived notions or alliances. He listens — to business owners, neighborhood associations, and those who feel unheard. He evaluates, collaborates and then moves forward.
He demonstrates that we can disagree and debate without being destructive. That’s essential now, because we have real challenges and real opportunities ahead: revitalizing Main Street, making Bonanza Park a space that benefits everyone, leveraging Olympic infrastructure without eroding what we love, and maintaining our trails, parks and schools.
I appreciate that Ryan is juggling the same type of schedule that my family is — getting our kids to school drop-off, running a local business, and giving back to the community we love. He is a person who lives here, but most importantly is invested here even in this busy moment of career and kids. That impresses me.
Park City needs a mayor who values civility, builds bridges and leads with both vision and pragmatism. Ryan Dickey is that person. I believe in his capacity to bring us together, to protect what is special about this place, and to lead us forward—not just with words, but with action.
