As a Summit County Council member, I have had the honor of working with Diego Zegarra and witnessing first hand his deep commitment to serving our community.
Diego’s 16 years of dedicated work in Park City have given him invaluable street credibility and trust within Park City’s workforce. As fellow Spanish speakers, Diego and I also have an opportunity to directly connect with our Spanish-speaking communities in a way that is authentic. Diego doesn’t just show up when it’s convenient — he has built genuine, lasting relationships with families and workers who form the backbone of our community.
Our workforce drives Park City’s economy, yet too often their needs and perspectives are overlooked in municipal governance. Diego understands the daily challenges our workforce face: housing affordability, transportation barriers, and access to services.
More importantly, he has consistently worked to address these challenges through grassroots community engagement. He knows that a thriving Park City requires policies that support the workers who make our resort community function.
He represents the next generation of leaders our community needs — leaders who understand both the business imperatives that drive our economy and the human imperative to ensure prosperity is shared by all who contribute to it.
As I term out of Summit County Council next year, I am confident that our community will be in good hands with leaders like Diego stepping forward. I look forward to collaborating with him as he brings his unique perspective and proven commitment to the Park City Council.
