Every election cycle has a defining issue. For many Park City residents in 2025, regardless of neighborhood, that issue is Clark Ranch.
Most candidates share similar positions on transit, sustainability, and child care. But when it comes to Clark Ranch, one of the last remaining open spaces at the gateway to our community, the divide could not be clearer.
Only two candidates have taken an unequivocal stance against developing this land: Jack Rubin for mayor and Jeremy Rubell for City Council. They recognize that designated open space should remain just that, and that our community deserves a real conversation about alternative affordable housing sites in the Quinn’s Junction area, not a rushed decision with permanent consequences.
Their opponents have repeatedly signaled support for developing Clark Ranch and have shown little willingness to explore other options or collaborate with neighboring landowners.
Before casting a ballot, I urge residents to listen to past City Council discussions because what candidates say on a campaign trail often differs from what they support in official meetings.
This is not about partisan politics. It is about protecting the character, safety, and ecological integrity of our town.
If you believe the Clark Ranch open space parcel should remain entirely undeveloped, at least until all alternatives are fairly evaluated, then the choice is clear: Jack Rubin and Jeremy Rubell are the only candidates prepared to defend it.
