Have all the past five mayors of Park City been duly elected their positions? Yes.
Have all the members of the current City Council been duly elected to their positions? Yes.
If Ryan Dickey gets elected mayor he will vacate his current council seat which would be filled by an unelected person. Yes.
Then why would we want one of the pivotal seats on the new council go to such a person when all the other past leaders have been elected representatives of the voters? Good question.
But there is a clear solution. Keep Ryan Dickey in his current council seat and vote for Jack Rubin to be Major. Yes.
That way we have a fully representative council (including Ryan Dickey) and a new mayor. In essence, we could have our cake, and eat it too!
