As winter approaches, the Utah Avalanche Center is asking our community to join us for Live PC Give PC on Friday. Live PC Give PC is Park City’s annual day of community giving.
For those of us who live, work, and play in the Wasatch, avalanche forecasting, awareness, and education are essential public safety services. The Utah Avalanche Center provides daily forecasts, emergency alerts, and life-saving education programs like Know Before You Go (KBYG) to help everyone make safer decisions in the backcountry.
This year, our goal is to raise $55,000 to support forecasting, awareness, and education right here in Summit County and across Utah. Your donation, even $5, makes a difference.
- $5 helps send an emergency SMS message.
- $50 funds an observation used in avalanche forecasting.
- $300 supports a forecaster field day in Summit County.
- $600 funds one avalanche forecast in Park City.
- $3,500 supports a weather station for one year.
