The Park City Police Department reported at least two recent cases involving traffic stops after frost was seen on windshields.
The two cases were reported on Saturday.
An officer pulled over a driver at 9:04 a.m. on Doc Holliday Drive after observing frost on the windshield. The police said the frost blocked the person’s “whole view on the driver side.”
A similar case was reported at 7:47 a.m. on Sidewinder Drive. The earlier case involved “more than half” of a windshield “frosted over,” the police said.

On Sunday, Nov. 23, at 11:22 p.m., the police reported four municipal buses were “found with their doors ajar and one with doors open” at the park-and-ride lot at Richardson Flat. The location was a “closed area” of the lot and there were 19 buses there, the police said. The police “cleared the buses” and indicated the circumstances were suspicious.
A police officer at 9:42 p.m. pulled over a driver in the area of Bonanza Drive and Iron Horse Drive, indicating a taillight was broken. The police said there was “red tape on it,” but it “was still emitting bright white light.” The person was warned to fix the taillight.
A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported at 2:36 p.m. in the area of Park Avenue and Kearns Boulevard. The victim’s vehicle is a Kia while the other vehicle had a temporarily license plate and was a Nissan truck, the police said.
The Police Department at 12:20 a.m. received information from the driver of a taxi that a driver in a “big red truck with (a) taxi sign” was “harassing other taxi drivers.” Public police logs did not provide details. The department logged the case as a citizen complaint rather than a suspected criminal matter.
On Saturday, Nov. 22, at 6:29 p.m., a person became locked out of a vehicle in a Royal Street parking garage The police were told the vehicle’s engine was not running and no children or animals were inside.
The Police Department at 9:24 p.m. received a report of what was described as “a lot of water” that was “coming up from the street” in the area of Lupine Lane and Larkspur Drive. The police were told the water was flowing into gutters and “a lot of water is being wasted.” The department described the case as a utility issue.
On Friday, Nov. 21, at 4:09 p.m., the police received information about a trailer that was reportedly left in a parking lot in the Iron Horse area. The police were told the trailer was “broken” and “unmovable” for a month. The department described the trailer as an abandoned vehicle.
The Police Department at 1:18 p.m. was told that a “kid went through the stop sign, doing wheelies, etc” in the area of the intersection of Monitor Drive and Little Kate Road. The person turned onto Monitor Drive, the police were told.
A collision between a driver and a deer was reported at 7:41 a.m. on S.R. 224. The person required a police report for insurance purposes.
On Thursday, Nov. 20, at 1:23 p.m., a young deer was reported to be in a Lucky John Drive backyard. Another deer was there earlier, “but now it’s just the baby deer,” the police were told.
On Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 11:44 a.m., the police were told movers were “blocking the street” on Woodside Avenue. The person told the agency “they started yelling at him and screaming” approximately 15 minutes prior to the report to law enforcement, according to public police logs. The police described the case as a suspected parking problem.
On Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 4:06 p.m., a driver was reportedly idling a vehicle engine on Sullivan Road, a small street that borders City Park.
On Monday, Nov. 17, at 4:58 p.m., a driver hit a deer on Kearns Boulevard. The animal survived the collision and was in a travel lane, the police were told. The person who contacted the police was not the one who hit the animal and said the driver involved may have pulled over, according to public police logs.
