Holiday Lights Ceremony
Historic Park City Alliance will host the annual Holiday Lights Ceremony, which features a live DJ, tree lighting and giveaways, on Saturday, Nov. 29. The event will feature DJ Dolph at 4 p.m. and the tree lighting at 5 p.m.. The first 200 attendees will receive a complimentary holiday light necklace and candy canes. The event is one of the Historic Park City Alliance’s seasonal celebrations that includes a window decoration contest, snow-globe stroll and Ski Bum on the Run. ‘Elf the Musical’ Continues Its Run at the Egyptian Theatre
Ziegfeld Theater Company wraps up its production of “Elf the Musical” Nov. 29 and Nov. 30 at the Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St. Based on Jon Favreau’s 2003 holiday comedy film, “Elf the Musical” follows Buddy the Elf as he adjusts to living in New York City. Sunday Craft at the Swaner EcoCenter

Park City Opera: ‘Gift of the Magi’
Park City Opera will perform David Conte’s “Gift of the Magi” Dec. 17 at the Clubhouse SLC, 850 E. South Temple, and on Dec. 19 and 20 at Park City Community Church, 4501 N. S.R. 224. The production is based on the classic short story by O. Henry that features libretto by Nicholas Giardini. Set on Christmas Eve, Jim and Della, a young couple with little to their names, sacrifice their most prized possession in order to buy the other a meaningful gift — only to discover that love is the greatest treasure. Composer Conte will participate in a Q and A after the Salt Lake City show, and Park City Opera staff and guest artists will hold a Q and A after the Park City shows.
