A former member of the Park City Planning Commission will return to the influential panel.
Mayor Ryan Dickey selected Adam Strachan for a midterm appointment after the resignation of Bill Johnson. The Strachan appointment is for a term ending in July of 2028.
Strachan, an attorney, was a member of the Planning Commission for nearly a decade before retiring in early 2018. His service stretched through the recession era, and he was involved in a series of high-profile development matters.
His tenure was most notable for the difficult discussions regarding the Treasure development proposal on a hillside overlooking Old Town along the route of the Town Lift. The tense Treasure talks stretched through much of his time on the Planning Commission. He was the chair during some of the notable moments before the Park City municipal government eventually acquired the land in a conservation deal.
“Adam has already given a great deal to this community, and I’m grateful he’s willing to step forward once again,” Dickey said in a prepared statement. “His experience and steady perspective will be a real asset to our Planning Commission, and I’m excited to welcome him back.”
