More than a dozen individuals were removed from a Park City Mountain property last week after Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance in Canyons Village.
Summit County Dispatch received noise complaints and reports of a possible fight involving 18 people around 2:30 a.m. at the Silverado Lodge in Canyons Village, according to a shift report. However, deputies only encountered six people when they arrived at the resort.
Deputies noted a disturbance had occurred, but the six individuals refused to cooperate with the investigation. Deputies were unable to determine who had been the aggressor and who had been the victim, so no one was arrested.
Management requested all individuals involved to be removed from the property.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple other calls between Monday, July 13, and Sunday, July 19, including suspected DUIs, assault and a search for a stranded hiker.
Sunday, July 19
Deputies stopped a car driving eastbound on Interstate 80 after observing a traffic violation. They saw an open container in the car when they spoke to the driver, who subsequently performed poorly on field sobriety tests. The driver was arrested on a suspected DUI.
Friday, July 17
Deputies initiated a traffic stop on Silver Summit Parkway because of an erratic driver. The driver showed signs of impairment and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He admitted he was drunk and asked deputies to take him to jail.
Thursday, July 16
Summit County Dispatch received reports of an assault at the Sundial Lodge in Canyons Village. When deputies arrived, staff members said the male suspect went into a nearby apartment. The victim and several witnesses said the man had shoved the victim before leaving the area. Deputies found and arrested the man for assault and intoxication and booked him into the Summit County Jail.
Deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident on Lambert Lane. The driver appeared intoxicated and was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Deputies then booked the driver into the Summit County Jail for a suspected DUI.
Summit County Dispatch issued an attempt-to-locate call for a vehicle on I-80 that was not maintaining its lane of travel. Deputies found and stopped the driver near Kimball Junction. The driver displayed signs of impairment and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Deputies took him into custody for a suspected DUI and impounded the car.
Tuesday, July 14
Summit County Search and Rescue responded to help a stranded hiker near Anderson Pass. A rockslide in the area had separated the hiker from their group, and a Department of Public Safety helicopter hoisted the hiker from the mountain and transported them to safety.
